Our Philanthropy Events and Involvement

Throughout the school year, our sisters are dedicated to fundraising for our national philanthropy. Sisters love participating in and coordinating our philanthropy events on campus such as Lemonade for Literacy, Pie a Pi Phi, Cocoa for a Cause, and Dodge the Arrow, while also making plans to go out to eat and shop together when we have percent nights. Dodge the Arrow is a Dodgeball Tournament where Greek Organizations, Student Organizations, and anyone in the Carolina Community registers to play in a bracket style dodgeball tournament to win $100 to a charity of their choice and a golden dodgeball.

This past semester, we participated in a Book Drive Battle with the Pi Beta Phi chapter at Clemson University and were able to raise 3,322 books for our local community. We also raised nearly $60,000 for our philanthropy last semester, and were #1 among all panhellenic sororities for the number of service hours completed!!

On Friday afternoons throughout the semester, chapter members participate Pi Beta Phi’s reading initiative "Champions Are Readers", or CAR for short. It is a program designed by Pi Phi for students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade where we go into their classroom, read different books, do follow up work based on the stories read, and after several weeks when the program is over our partnership with First Book allows us to give each child a brand new book! The best part is that this program is completely free thanks to donations from our Pi Beta Phi chapters across the nation. Read > Lead > Achieve is unique because it allows us to be hands-on with our philanthropy in these ways, giving us the luxury to really connect with what our chapter is supporting.
